So I had a pretty good father's day. Rode home from work and took a lil nap. Went to late breakfast and then hung out at the lake most of the day and did some wakeboarding and O-Dog got up skiing.
He started to get a lil cocky waving to us, he actually did really well. He got up the first try and didn't fall once and was actually turning and getting outside the wake and hit some pretty decent wakes from other boats and survived.

So I was running my mouth yesterday to D on how i haven't had to put gas in the jeeper for 27 days, well karma kicked me in the ass this morning. I made it to the keystone right at aksarben this morning on my way to work and got a flat. Of course i stopped carrying my patches and pump with me last year because, well it's the keystone trail and how in the hell am i gonna get a flat there. I am still confused, I didn't run over anything or do anything that would have caused a flat but there it was. So now i am stuck on my way to work which i cannot be late for. So my options were too call jess to come get me but we were up late and waking the kids didn't seem like the right thing to do and besides that might take too long anyways. I could have called B-Roq a guy i work with but he comes from 168th st so a lil out of the way, if i would have made it to Dodge that would have been more reasonable. So there i am running home down center st pushing the dew, backpack, helmet and cycling shoes on. I wish someone would have gotten a pic of the Corky look-alike running down the street. People had to look at me and just scratch their heads. I made it home hopped into the jeep and took off for work doin about 90 down the interstate, remeber i have to go all the way to Fort St. Pulled into work with about 6 min to spare. So now i am down to 1/4 tank(i think driving to work like Parnello Jones didn't do much for mileage) but i am still 28 days and counting without filling it. Today is our last day of work so if i can make it through the week and go back to work next Sat without filling it I could possibly make it another week and a half i hope.

Look at fightin 43's on the scene!!! Twice now i have been in the paper. What a mess this was, we rolled down the interstate we could see the smoke and flames under the tanker another few minutes and it could have been ugly. The call came in at 8:45 and we were there til 4:15. They brought in the foam tanker from Eppley that thing was freaking cool. The whole process took a long time. With all the gas that spilled, setting up dikes and trying to limit where it all went and trying to stop the leaks, the Hazmat guys earned their money yesterday that is for sure.

Man i am itchin for a road trip!!! when does keystone open? just sittin at work not much goin on in the big city today. Finally got to commute a few times this week, it is actually getting light out at 6. Hey D what's with the new name? now if it will stop raining for a while all will be better. Omaha actually sent some usar (urban search and rescue) peeps out to kansas yesterday, for help with finding the missing people from the tornadoes. What a freakin mess thaye have down there. looking to grab some beers fri nite and maybe a urban ride wed nite.

So i am back from hawaii and back at work after my 13 day hiatus. Hawaii rocked, although not much relaxin with the kids around. O had an absolute blast getting knocked around by the waves. I will get some pics here in the next few days, had great weather a lil windy the first few days but all in all couldn't have asked for much better.
Just checked out that ravines vid, sweet!!! How come the only wreck on there was of the kid in the pink shirt?!!!! Sorry Dan i don't think anyone can pull off a pink shirt. I also have about 30-40 2x4's if anyone wants them . they are anywhere from 8-12 inches wide, from when i took down my deck.
Trying to plan Moab and fruita trip for the beginning of Oct. I think there will be enough people going this year to think about getting a big cabin. I know right now me and Kep are in along with Jess and Carrie. Kep said Popple wants to go again and just put a down payment on a nomad. Hilt said he was in but would like to get a total count in the next week or so to be able to get a cabin and not worry about not having enough peeps.

TWO DAYS TILL HAWAII BITCHES!!!!!

I am so ready for a vacay, althought he chitlins will be with us it will still be fun in the sun. I finally got the new 66 in the dirt yesterday for a couple laps at manawa. I really am diggin that fork even though i really haven't used it yet, i am sure a couple trips to the ski resorts this summer will definately be ok!! Went to commute this morning and thought my left pedal on the dew felt kinda off, then about 63 rd st it came loose. So i pulled over and went to put it back in, well it wouldn't stay it was still loose. one footed back home loaded it up and took the jeep to work. Looked at it and all the freaking threads in the crank or pretty much smooth. stupid cheap truvative cranks, don't beleive they can be rethreaded so i am going to have find some new cranks for it. Although it will all be saved for the fact i won't have to buy gas for the car most of the summer!!!

What do you fellas think of this ride? It is a new fetish discipline. I was looking at getting a specialzed rockhopper and then this caught my eye. for about the same price it has manitou r7 comp fork compared to the rock shox tora, xt rear der compared to deore, avid bbdb5 brakes compared to shimano's cable discs and pivit rims(never heard of them). The safe and logical is the specialized but this company seemed to be pretty good from their website, and i would have to order it. although none else around would have one like it.

So Jess had been keeping her v-day present to me a secret for months now and on mon it finally came! Two bleacher seats for opening day at Wrigley! We flew out first thing in the morning when i got home from work, into Midway. Then from there hopped on the train to Addison St. home of the Cubs. We got to Wrigley about 11 and went to get some food and a couple beers. Went into the game about 45 min before game time and it was packed already. As you could probably guess the Cubbies lost and it was cold. It actually snowed pretty good for about 10-15 min during the game. Afterwards we hung out a lil while and went to State St. for a couple stores she wanted to go to. Then flew home about 8:45 that nite, to go sleep in my nice warm bed(and i had to work in the morn). All in all it was a great day, and for future reference, if going to go to a Cubs game the bleachers are definately the way to go. I had been their a few times before and sat in the reserved seats, but the bleachers were a drunken party and riled up crowd.

MIA? Well this week started off good. Monday made my first commute to work for the year, it was a lil chilly (and D i don't want to hear it from you) but felt good and then tues it got freaking cold, so that was it for riding to work this week. Haven't hit any dirt yet this spring was looking to go for a urban ride sat morn if anyone is interested, have to go relatively early we have jess' family easter on sat, down at the cabin which should be nice and warm!! Getting pretty excited leaving for hawaii in two weeks!! Although i keep praying the kids will be good on the plane. Just looking forward to hangin out on the beach with no worries, getting some sun and i might even have myself some umbrella drinks!! Work has been pretty busy during the day and slept through the nite which is pretty cool, had a small house fire yesterday. Peoples furnace decide to go up in flames, lucky somone was home. We got there pretty fast to keep it in one room, with really minimal damage.Well that is all i got for now.

Well let me start off by saying D is the man, he hooked me up putting my new forck on the g-spot, and laced up my new Hope hub to go with it!! She's been done for about a week or so now and she rides awfully nice. Haven't had it on the trail yet but hopefully in the next day or so. I do like the color of the front of this bike.

Went to mom's house last sun for dinner and just to hang out. The kids played pretty much outside all day riding their four wheelers and cars, it looked like a rally race out their. We ate outside and this damn pigeon kept landing on the deck and on our shoulders, had no idea where he came from but you would just be sitting there and all the sudden he would land on you. The kids got a kick out of it though, and O tried throwing food at him.

Hilt maybe you should clean your water bottle before you drink from it!!

Well the weather is final breaking and got a few nice days in this week! Sat me and Dumpy went for a ride just on the keystone to fort and back. We all know he is fat now so i had to take it easy on him. Mon me and Jess took the kids to the park and had a picnic. On wed i took the dew out on the keystone rode to capehart and back, HOLY WIND. Somehow the wind was in my face both directions. The way back was worse though, if i quit pedaling i would actually stop within 3ft or so, but i didn't care for i was outside. Got back to the jeep at the mart and almost fell over. Although it is a lil chillier outside toward the end of the week it is all uphill from here unless it rains too much this spring.

When will the snow stop? Damn weather teased us with a decent week to just shit on us again. O had to build a fort though , and B-Rocs well atleast she looked like she was having fun!! She kept pulling off her gloves and then kept getting mad cause her hands would get cold in the snow. Atleast we got all this snow on my days off and don't have to deal with it at work. Hey Hilt I talked to Kep the other day and he wanted to know when Nebraska made same sex marriage legal!! We had a busy set at work last week, nothing really to exciting, we delivered our first baby, we walked in the house and the lil guy was breech and his lil foot was hangin out, i drove the squad and by the time we hit the main street he was out. He was only 2o weeks old and about as big as my hand. There was also the 2 alarm fire at Bob's grocery, even though we didn't make that we had to move stations and fill in for the other rigs. Jess bought our tickets to Hawaii the other day, looks like we are going to have a lil Strazdas family vacation. The chitlins should be fun on a 7 hr plane ride, O will be ok but i have a feeling Brooklyn will get restless, i am going to have to ask our pediatrition about some tranquilizers. Hopefully it will warm up soon, i saw 42 for early next week.

Ahhh summertime!!!!!

So i just ordred my new hub to go with my new fork, Hope Pro II in red, should look pretty sweet. now if it will just warm up that would be swell. I have had a cold freakin week at work. Yesterday we had a car wreck on about 132nd and fort, kid rolled his explorer over into the ditch, and last nite had a fire alarm at the car wash which turned out to be nothing of importance, and then about two thirty a.m. a car fire that was fully involved and of course there was a witness who saw two people running away from the scene. So we had to wait for the fire investigator which isn't fast at 3:00 in the morning. The nite before we had an apartment fire out on the third story deck which was just getting into the attic. The nite before that we had house fire that was going pretty good in the attic, the guy who lived there was still up and smelled it so they were pretty lucky, another ten minutes and it would have been really rollin. So let's just say playing in the water when temps have been below zero isn't all that warm. D wants knickers weather, i would be happy with something above freezing for a couple days.
